That's not the old bloom. It's the same new compositor based bloom. Just add the bloom node yourself and save your startup file.
Yeah, I meant to do it quickly as before... So, you haven't got a problem with the new one and the time it wastes you when opening old projects??

Hi guys! HAVE A QUESTION for you... Has anyone any idea why they just got rid of the super comfortable & easy activation of the Bloom function in EEVEE Blender 4.2??? I just don't get it... We found a solution here but I don't understand why they did it 🤨
Because it was not a property of a rendering engine, but a post effect. Really it had no place being in the render settings from the beginning. Also think of it as modifier vs geometry nodes. Yes, modifiers are easier to use, but they are linear. With geometry nodes you can plug it in any combination with other nodes. Same with this bloom effect now. Maybe you want to have it not radiate in all directions, but you want to modify it's with some noise? You can do that now. Plus it is now independent of the rendering engine, so you can switch to cycles and it will work the same way. The only counterargument for the previous solution is that it was easier to use, less clicks. True. But this is exactly where the modifiers come in.
@@alesjelovcan6810 Thanks a lot for your detailed explanation. Now I can see it more clearly. However my main problem is when reopening old projects with bloom and I always have to go back to the compositor is a pain. That's why this video... Anyways, many thanks for your comment!

Thanks. You have to make sure that you have actually loaded your texture... If it shows in pink color it means that blender can't find your texture directory

Not very helpful - just using shortcut keys does not teach anyone what the commands are. There are no actual instructions or explanations, it's just a screen recording of how you do it.

Somehow the modifier doesnt show in my render idk why.
Difficult to see, it might be an error, which often appear with demanding, memory absorbing modifiers. I have to see the data and better a screenshot to help you further...
